Mountain Highs and Valley Lows

 This has been a year for me. I got Covid in June and my mom got Covid right after me. Mom is currently on her fourth hospital stay. Friday, she was transferred down to a Critical Care Hospital in Greenville, SC. She has been in the local hospital here in town for three weeks. It has been one thing after another. They are to make her oxygen levels stable and help her be able to move around on her own more than she is now. She has not started her physical therapy, but they have cut the amount of oxygen she is taken cut over half already.  I am hoping she will be off the oxygen completely by the time she comes home. The hardest part of her being in the hospital in Greenville is that I will not be able to visit her before work.  There have been a lot of changes at work. The lead on the dock passed away in May. I have been one of the lucky ones who has been working all through the pandemic. I work for a company that sells equipment that is essential to the operation of hospitals, government, business and homes. We have a a couple cases at my work but no outbreaks. We have a had delays in getting products from our manufacturing plants due to the pandemic which caused backorders. Mix that with the demand for our products and we have been busy at the warehouse. I have worked a lot of overtime in the past year.  There have been weeks I have worked all 7 days. That means working 12 to 13 days straight. One of the things, I like about my job is the in normal times I work Monday through Friday with a Saturday once or twice a month.
